Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Andrew Fox and I am a fully trained and registered taxidermist, providing a high-quality taxidermy service from my workshop based in Hanstown, Ballinea, Co. Westmeath. I am able to accommodate projects of all sizes, from small mounts to larger customised pieces. All my work is treated with great care and attention to detail, using traditional techniques and high-quality cures to produce the best end products. About Andrew Fox

I received training in the highly acclaimed Western Pennsylvania School of Taxidermy, USA where I received my diploma. Once I had completed my training, I returned to Ireland where I opened my workshop in 2014. Since then I have been providing my taxidermy service to a variety of clients, ensuring at all times that my work has been completed to the highest standard. I am now recognised as one of the leading taxidermists in Ireland and am fully dedicated to upholding the values of legitimate taxidermy. My work has seen me undertake specialist projects including buffalo and other exotic animals which have passed away naturally in a zoo or wildlife enclosure. I am registered with the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht and I report to the National Parks & Wildlife Service.

Specialist Works

I am able to complete specialist taxidermy projects for more exotic animals provided, of course, they meet the right criteria for taxidermy and have not been unlawfully killed. In the past, I have created mounts of buffalo, taking extra care to capture all the features of this magnificent animal. I complete work for all types of client whether you are a private individual seeking a trophy mount or for larger organisations such as zoos and museums.

Taxidermy Upkeep

In order to ensure your new purchase is maintained in good condition for as long as possible, we recommend undertaking some general maintenance and upkeep.

This includes:

Placing your item in an area that does not collect dust easily, for example, inside a display cabinet.

Avoid touching the item as much as possible as this can damage the fur and other features. Touching your item too much can cause it to look worn/dirty.

Keep the item out of direct sunlight. Fur and feathers and susceptible to sunlight and too much exposure can cause discolouration over time.
